This project is one example of an ongoing effort to bridge architectural design, real-time visualisation, and more effective communication with clients.
At the heart of this process is Riscopri, my workflow for transforming surveyed residential buildings into interactive real-time environments. Combining CAD, Unreal Engine and Blueprint systems, the aim is to create environments that can be explored, configured and understood rather than simply viewed.
Rather than creating a static scene, the goal was to produce a complete interactive environment that can be explored, customised and used as the basis for future projects. The house was surveyed on site, modelled in Rhino using real-world dimensions, organised into a structured CAD model, and finally imported into Unreal Engine via Datasmith after each object had been converted into an optimised polygonal mesh.
From there, the project evolved into a fully interactive environment featuring Blueprint-driven systems, environmental controls, custom materials, and a complete interior and exterior. Everything is designed to remain editable, making it suitable both as a finished environment and as a reference project for Unreal Engine users.
The images above show not only the final environment, but also part of the development process—from CAD organisation and wireframes through to the Blueprint systems that drive many of the interactive features.
The project was created in Unreal Engine 5.8 using Nanite and Lumen, with custom foliage, atmosphere controls, environmental audio, and a demonstration level showcasing the available functionality.
Although this project is available as a marketplace asset, it also represents the workflow I use to develop interactive architectural environments from real-world buildings.
Riscopri continues to evolve, both in functionality and efficiency, allowing me to communicate design ideas more clearly while reducing the potential for costly errors. As anyone working in the construction industry knows, even small mistakes can have significant financial consequences.
More information about this project and the wider Riscopri workflow can be found on my website. The complete Unreal Engine project is available on Fab and Gumroad, while development videos and demonstrations are published on YouTube.
